watercolor studies

Watercolor studies are a good way for me to be present to leaves when copper and chemistry aren’t available or safe. A trip to Argentina in 2019 started the practice of painting every day during our travels. Some of the sketches were left as a thank you to our AirBnB hosts, most came home with me.

I still use this practice when I travel as a way of journaling and staying connected to nature. I think some of these designs would work well as chase and repussé in copper foil, or in some future explorations with enameling.
