This 1” diameter copper pin is stamped with 86/47, then, this tiny disc is then punched and riveted, gently domed and counter enameled to set the base. The face is fired with transparent enamel; a second firing adds a translucent burst overlay. When the pin came off of the steel trivet, it caught, leaving a mark in the lower right corner. I fired on a millifiore disc to cover the scar.

what is 86/47?

86 is a quotation from the restaurant industry, indicating the kitchen can leave off an offensive ingredient. For example, “86 the mayo!”

I leave to your imagination and intellect the reference for the number 47.
