this copper collage abstraction is composed of a pair of renderings from a split banana leaf. a neighbor offered me a larger-than-would-fit leaf to use; since I couldn’t render the entire leaf, I chose the tip and rendered each side with different patinas. wax detailing accentuates edge definition, and softens the cheesecloth pattern in the background. a row of copper roofing nails renders the spine of the leaf.
24” wide X 12” high X 1-3/4” deep.
